Next step towards CO2-neutral fleet

News

Following the recent extension of our ISO 14001 certificate, we have taken a further step forward in our mission to reduce CO2 emissions. AVEX has already added seven new company vehicles to its fleet of electric vehicles.

7 new electric vans

This time we’ve expanded our fleet with 7 new Peugeot electric vans, taking another step towards a greener future for our company. This brings the total to 18 fully electric commercial vehicles. The ISO 14001 certificate is an important quality mark that assesses AVEX’s activities in terms of sustainability and respect for the environment.

Making our fleet more sustainable is an integral part of our ambition to phase out all polluting vehicles by 2028. This year, we have already replaced 25% of these vehicles with clean, environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Sustainable progress

The car fleet is one of the main sources of CO2 emissions. It is therefore essential that we continue to innovate to improve the climate. With 125 cars and vans in our fleet, we still have plenty of room for improvement. We have therefore identified a number of key points to make our fleet more environmentally friendly. To this end, all EUR5 vans and trucks will be replaced by more environmentally-friendly EUR6 models. The vehicles that still run on diesel are mainly company cars for which there is currently no good alternative. Nevertheless, we continue to look for more sustainable options.

Another positive development is the increase in the number of A-label vehicles, which indicates that our efforts to drive more economically are bearing fruit. We are also seeing a steady decline in the number of vehicles with a C or lower label. Our aim for the coming year is to replace all cars with a D energy label or lower with more energy-efficient models, making our fleet even greener.

At AVEX, we’re committed to accelerating the transition to a more sustainable future and making a positive impact on the environment. Our growing fleet of electric vehicles is just one of the many steps we are taking.

The sustainability report

AVEX has placed its sustainability policy in a broader perspective and adapted it to the current global standard: the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Of the 17 SDGs, we have chosen five that correspond to AVEX’s sustainability themes. For each of the SDGs, we have identified targets that we want to achieve in the coming years. All of this has been developed and documented in the AVEX Sustainability Report 2022.
