Deloitte has recently occupied the new The Edge office building in the prestigious Zuidas district of Amsterdam. AVEX assumed responsibility for the full audio-visual system integration of The Edge, the world's most innovative and smart office building. The rollout to other Deloitte locations has since started.
Deloitte has a workforce of tens of thousands of dedicated professionals in autonomous member firms worldwide, which cooperate in the fields of accountancy, consulting, financial advice, risk management, tax consultancy and related services.
Its goal was to create an environment that stimulates conversation between employees and encourages collaboration at natural meeting points.
The result he Deloitte office is certified as the most innovative and sustainable office in the world. It’s intelligent and even knows the light and temperature preferences for individuals.
Deloitte uses a central approach that is fully user oriented, which is based on the Single User Interface. This interface makes it possible to regulate the lighting, room bookings and AV components. By enabling wireless presentation in the conference rooms, unsightly cables are no longer present. The interface can be approached by means of a laptop or mobile device and is activated by means of a NCF tag or QR code.
The Mapiq system ensures that the employees of Deloitte have access to all the qualities that The Edge has to offer. The system provides a 3D map, incorporating a great deal of information about the building. Mapiq can show a route to places in the building and can help you quickly find your colleagues by sharing locations. What’s more, it can be used to book specific rooms and see which workspaces are still available in the complex. Mapiq also shows you where you are expected in case of an appointment.
End users can get access to the User Interface on their mobile device
or laptop through an NFC tag or QR code which is made available in
all the meeting rooms and pantry’s. The interface will display the available resources in the meeting room and the corresponding control functionality.

AVEX worked together with various partners in this project. One of these is Blinq Systems, who is responsible for the Mapiq system in The Edge. Axxerion was responsible for the roll-out of the Facility management information system at Deloitte.
