Embraer’s European Conference a resounding success

Project

Aircraft manufacturer Embraer organises a five-day conference for its business contacts each year. As the world’s third largest aerospace company, Embraer has a global network so large that it opts for a conference venue in the US the one year, then in a European city the next. In 2016, Novotel Amsterdam City therefore hosted the Embraer Operators Conference. AVEX took charge of the event’s smooth organisation.

Client Novotel Amsterdam City is a 4-star hotel in the heart of Amsterdam’s business district. The hotel has 610 rooms and 17 conference halls.

‘It was a tremendous experience to feed, accommodate and host a conference for such a large group of guests. Given that a great deal of audio-visual support was required, however, it was particularly pleasant to collaborate with a supplier that is fully acquainted with our systems and facilities. This enables us to rapidly respond to any circumstances, while resting assured that service will remain up to scratch at all times. The conference proved a resounding success, and we therefore look forward to the opportunity to welcome its entourage again in the future,’ says Suzanne Rood of the Novotel Amsterdam City

The EOC was a fantastic meeting for us to facilitate at the hotel.

Tailor-made advice for a distinguishing event

AVEX’s Event Facilities department regularly carries out the organisation of events for Novotel’s business clients. This offers Novotel the advantage of knowing that the technical and organisational aspects of such events are in good hands. The added value to Embraer is that AVEX offers tailor-made advice in terms of holding a distinguishing event. The advice it issued for this particular conference was to opt for a solution with a substantial rear wall comprising three separate visual screens.

AVEX explained its proposal using 3D impressions, therefore enabling Embraer to readily visualise the setting in advance. The entire setup was very much in keeping with Embraer’s wishes, and was therefore given the go-ahead.

Conference-goers received highly hospitably, taking all the worries off Embraer’s hands

The multi-day conference for over 400 guests proved a huge success. The speakers witnessed how their presentations were convincingly displayed on the 3 visual screens. These were placed against the backdrop of a full-colour wall measuring 33 metres wide and 5 metres high. The screens were splendidly integrated in the rear wall, appearing to float in the air.

The attractively designed setup offered all participants in the conference excellent sound and vision quality, even those seated at the rear of the hall. The lighting was also adapted at various junctures throughout the day, and whenever there was a change of speakers. Various AV technicians operating under the guidance of a project leader pulled out all the stops to enable a powerful performance.
