A number of young have been born in recent years. The most famous peregrine falcon has been given the name Frits. Frits had fallen out of the loft and ended up on the edge of the ABN AMRO building. The ABN AMRO employees looked after her during this period. After two weeks she was able to fly and was reunited with her family.

The story about the peregrine falcons on the Zuidas goes back a while… in April 2016 there was confusion about a ‘sniper’ who would be on the ABN AMRO building in Amsterdam. It turned out to be a cameraman who was trying to photograph the nest of the peregrine falcon. The recordings were used for the film ‘De Wilde Stad’, which was released in 2017. The same makers previously released the film ‘De Nieuwe Wildernis’

The peregrine falcon is on the endangered species list. Because lofts for the falcons are being built on more and more buildings, this species is again more common in the Netherlands. In the period from March to May, the peregrine falcon lays eggs once. The eggs hatch after about 30 days, after which the young remain in the coop for about 40 days.
